Be Still

When I'm driving I always slow down when I come upon an animal in the road. When my car approaches a bird they usually fly away. Dogs and cats usually run, unless they are unaware of the vehicle. Some large animals, like deer and cows are scared, but they also are aware of their size. Squirrels will be still when danger comes and let the danger go around them.

I honestly think that is the smartest. The animals that run really don't know which way to run. As I'm driving, I don't know which way the animal is running, so I might hit them while they are trying to run from danger. Being still or running are both risky. Some situations are better to run, while others are better to be still.

There are times when a person might feel stuck, like in a job or relationship. There are times when a person wants to get revenge on someone that hurt them. There are times when a person is struggling to pay bills. A person might be confused about any situation. If the person's life isn't in any danger, this is the time to be still. This is the time to lean on God for the next move.

Moving into a situation without certainty from God is a risk of moving into more danger. When making a major decision without a word from God happens, God is there, but He is going to let a person go through what she decided on. God does have His hands are around her with protection. God will also bring a person out of the situation, she got herself in. God is going to teach her a lesson, then give direction. God is a Father.

In Psalms 46 talks about God is refuge and strength in times of trouble. It's describing what the dangers they are facing feel like through out the passage. I'm sure there are many of us out there today that can relate to this passage. The mountains shake, waters roar sounds like things are shaking up in something. For a lot of people finances are shaky, sickness is roaring. At the end of Psalms 46 there is hope, it's a but yet scripture that says "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!" God is saying, "Don't worry, I got this. When this is over, everyone will know that I am God."

During this time of stillness, continue to trust, rely on God. Don't lose sight of Him being in control of everything, because He is. He is Love. He is God.
