My plan was to start writing two blogs per month but the month of October has been shaky for me. It seems like just when things settle down in my life, something comes along and shakes it up. I've learned to view the shaking as growing pains, even the pain of losing someone.
We know that death comes to all of us. It's always show shocking when it shows up like a deer in your headlights to loved ones. However, the headache of hitting deer with a car is an inconvenient pain, death of a loved one is sorrowful pain. Have you ever wished you could tap your heels together three times then be in a better place like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz? I'm guilty of wishing this was possible sometimes, especially when everything around seems to be falling apart. In the movie Dorothy discovered that the place she was trying to run from wasn't that bad. As a matter of fact when she went to Oz she wanted to return home.
Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of transporting out of a storm, we have to learn to face tough times with happiness. Everyone goes through something tough, and recently it seems the world is going through inflation together. People are starting to get desperate and stressing about finances. Suicide and murder cases are rising. The world needs happiness.
Healthy hobbies is a way to relieve stress and not adding on unhealthy hobbies, like sitting around drinking alcohol to fall asleep at night. An example of healthy hobbies are exercising, Walking around the block and taking deep breaths is a free, relaxing, healthy suggestion to maintaining happiness.
The Bible says, "Happy is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God." Psalm 146:5 HCSB. Hoping in God through tough times, like inflation, is the best way to maintain happiness. God gives us peace when we hope in Him to help us navigate in the right direction. When we are full of anxiety, it's hard to focus on coming up with the right solution. Anxiety causes out thoughts to be all over the place in a confused state. God will give us the right solution when we clear our thoughts of anxiety by hoping in Him.
